Today I will share with you how to take care of the majestic and immortal: Monstera Deliciosa.

Summary sheet:
👾 lvl 1: simple to maintain, also recommended for beginners;
☀️: Lots of indirect light, in addition, if possible, direct light at sunrise and sunset;
💧: Water it abundantly after every complete drying;
🍌: Fertilize it once a month;
✂️: Propagation possible by division and cutting;
🧪: Toxic to animals;
🪴: 60% soil, 20% leca, 20% perlite
🌡️: 10 – 30°C

It loves to climb and if it will be able to do so, perhaps even with a simple moss pole, it will give you ever-larger leaves and many wonderful aerial roots. If you decide not to let it climb, there won’t be any problem; however, it will continue to amaze you with its rapid growth. Later, you may have to add supports such as wooden sticks because it will tend to take up a lot of space.

Transfer it when the roots come out of the drainage holes and/or the surface of the pot. Love to be tight!

It is a suitable and highly recommended plant (in my personal opinion) even for those approaching the world of plants for the first time.

Pay attention to where you place it if you have pets at home: it’s toxic!

I’m growing my beloved Monsteras all over the house (I’ll have at least five…) despite having a cat 🐱, but I’m calm because she doesn’t show any interest in my plants 🪴 at home, having a large garden and courtyard at her disposal where she can hunt and have fun.

It does not require large amounts of light ☀️ as it is a tropical plant that often grows in the undergrowth. It loves a lot of indirect light (about 6 hours) and if you have the possibility: give it some direct sunlight 🌅 at dawn or in the late afternoon.

Water it abundantly when the soil is completely dry without creating water stagnation and fertilize it once a month.

She loves well-drained soil but at the same time doesn’t have great needs; a mix of soil with perlite and expanded clay (60%, 20%, 20%) will suffice.

Its propagation is extremely simple and will give you great satisfaction!
You can propagate it either by division or by cutting.
In the first case, if there are several plants in your pot 🏺, just divide them carefully trying not to stress the roots; in the second method you will have to identify at least one node (you will recognize it by sight and touch as a sort of protruding gem 💎 on the branch), or even better: an aerial root and you will have to cut diagonally ↘️ with decision and with a carefully disinfected blade. Let your cutting dry for one / two days and then place it either directly on the ground or in water 💧. When the roots are well developed (when they exceed two centimeters and more) you can bury your cutting.

Does not require pruning.

It tolerates low temperatures (10 °C) and likes heat, but not torrid (25 – 30 °C). It loves humidity therefore, especially in summer, humidify the leaves in moderation.
