In this article you will read what my first experience was, what I understood and what I recommend to be able to approach this splendid new world 🌎 (which for me is the future) with joy 🤩 and serenity 🥰.

I don’t think there really exist plants 🌱 for those who are just starting out also because if you read “Pothos”, “Sansevieria”, “Zamioculcas” or “Ficus Elastica” however, rightly so, you will not immediately understand their differences and needs.

I, personally, didn’t start with any of these 😅. My first ever plant was a Schefflera (a what??), I was absolutely fascinated by the shape of their leaves, and to my amazement, I found that it is extremely resistant to the new green thumbs.

My second plant was a beautiful and forgotten one in the sun ☀️; Aloe Vera which fortunately I managed to save, because it is really difficult to destroy: she loves to live 💗!

The first plant that left me ⚰️ was a much desired Aglaonomea but I understood that it was not really for me, despite its beautiful posture.

I discovered that I was particularly gifted in the care of cacti and succulents 🌵🌵 in general because I’m not a plant parent who loves to water plants, but when I do: I water them carefully and abundantly (always respecting their needs).

With Monstera Deliciosa I decided to go a little further and propagated it, or so I thought. I cut ✂️ the leaf without any knots. What are Nodes? Gems 💎💎 that feel more swollen to the touch than the stem. I decided to try it with her because everyone had told me it was extremely easy, but do you know what my successful propagation was? With the Jade tree 🌳, a succulent plant that no one advised me to propagate in water💧.

Moral of the story?
Don’t be afraid and don’t worry too much. My very first tip? Before buying 💵 a plant: inform yourself! Study them and then take them home. You can’t know which plants are best suited for you if you don’t try to grow them! And one of the things that helped me to have to deal with the parasites as late as possible was to: eliminate excess water 💧 from the saucers, not use pot covers, cultivate plants of all different species and alternate watering both on the ground and from below.

The most important thing always remains the love ❤️❤️ and the desire to learn and preserve our loved ones.

What was / what will be your first plant 🪴?

Love you, bye! 💗
