Hi all sweethearts, today I’m telling you how this page was born and why I chose this name. In the meantime, let me introduce myself! My name is Silvia Quadrelli, I am a young disabled girl. My disability is linked to my severe vision problems which lead me to be practically blind.
When you have a physical difficulty, very often, it takes a lot of effort to find a job or create even a small space for yourself in this world, because you are laughed at and set aside.
This happens when we lose that fire that burns inside our chest! But what if we found the strength to never put that fire out? Indeed, what if we were moved by this great force?
Being different is not a hindrance, but a gift to be preserved, cultivated and cherished! Nobody wanted, and still nobody wants, to hire me.
I sent my resumes all over the city, even outside, but nothing. I don’t hide that I suffered a lot, but then I remembered one thing: flowers are born from poop.
Thus “Plants Vitae” was born, the union of what I love: plants + the final part of what no employer suited me… my CV!
At the moment plants have not become a job, but one of my biggest dreams and one day being able to open my beloved shop with my music in the background, because yes, I’m also a songwriter, but that’s another story…
I’ve been passionate about plants since I was a child because I’ve had the enormous good fortune to spend most of my time immersed in nature. Over the years I forgot about this great love but during the Covid I had the wonderful opportunity to quarantine with roommates that I just couldn’t stand.
My positivity took over and it decided to give me a gift: in the house where I lived there was a large terrace full of dying plants.
In April I decided that: that terrace would become an enchanted garden, so I took care of it day after day. I poked all the plants, cleaned the soil, started composting, cutting what was rotten or too dry,
I made my first experiments growing garlic, carrots, onions and… at the end of June, that terrace, thanks to my love, it became a wonderful enchanted space.
I left the house on June 22nd (2020) and in my current home, well… I have a small garden and a jungle at home! What’s your story? I will be happy to read you! Hug you tightly and…
Love you, bye! 💗
